About Me:
I am a father to two wonderful children and a husband to an amazing wife. Raised in a southern lifestyle, I am a dedicated Christian and a simple man. I was employed in law enforcement for 12
years, including assignments in investigations and SWAT. I am now pursuing my dream and passion of fishing for a living.
I have a competitive nature and drive that burns with great intensity. I believe this all stems from my younger days competing in every sport I could. With that said, I have been a part of a team nearly all my life. This has brought about many life experiences whereby I developed a set of leadership skills and abilities that are continually propelling me through life. I am grounded in my Christian faith, discipline and ethics.

Fishing Bio:
I began fishing like most, as a child. My father deserves the credit for introducing me to the outdoors. At the age of 14 (1994) I began a life long journey of chasing a little green fish. By the age of 15 I was competing in bass tournaments throughout east Tennessee and Kentucky. The thrill of the boat rides at blast off, the heart stopping bites and the glory at weigh in fueled my competitive nature. I was totally addicted.
I have fished multiple Wal-Mart BFL events as a co-angler and boater (Buckeye, Hoosier, Mountain, North Carolina, Volunteer and Choo Choo divisions), and continue to do so. Currently I am a member of the Bluegrass Bassmasters affiliated with Kentucky BASS Nation/BASS Nation. I qualified for the 2016 BASS Nation Central Regional on Lake Guntersville in Alabama and finished 53, and made the day 3 cut. I will be fishing in the 2017 BASS Nation Central Regional on Lake of the Ozarks in April. I run a 2017 Triton 20 Trx Anniversary Edition with a 250 Mercury ProXS, two power poles, Lowrance electronics and tow with a 2016 Toyota Tundra with a 100XQ Leer cap.
Goals:
I have set out to be a positive influence on my community in every way possible. I have introduced numerous adults and kids to bass fishing and they have contracted the "disease" as well. The daily life I lead is rooted in strong faith, discipline, ethics, integrity and professionalism. Everything I do and represent is embedded with those traits. For 2017, I plan to compete on the FLW Tour as a co-angler in a few events, fish a full BFL season as a pro, and compete in Kentucky BASS Nation. From there I plan to relentlessly pursue my life long dream of fishing professionally. I have launched a website created by Pro Sites Unlimited: www.JonAbbottFishing.com. I stay involved in social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) in efforts to reach more people and share the great outdoors. I have some great ideas for philanthropy work that I would love to share and promote using these social media outlets.
