NOW THATS A FISHERMANS TREE
went to the streamside office today and a was totally jealous of there tree.
a true fishermans tree.
just gonna share a tip with ya ive been doin for 3yrs now.
its nothing huge but real steelheaders know every little thing counts.
the traditional way we used to run 6-8 split shots down our line under the float.
I run 1 bigger shot right under my float.
2 reasons why.
1. trout have great vision and can spook easy in clear water. so why spook the fish with all these pellets a foot or 2 under the water comin towards them. its just not natural.
2. every time you bite a shot onto your line you are weakening your line. many times before a set hook or fought fish and line broke right a shot .
your jigs and roe have plenty enough weight to get themselves down.
when I use pinkie I do have to put one on.
I know the old style works but you may have caught those few more cause ya didn't spook them away.
give it a try ya never know ya just might like it...
(and were talking normal creeks... not the falls lol)

Sounds about right if the current will allow. Most of our creeks will.
