MUDDY MUDDY WATERS
mother nature has made it a pretty tough go for us stream anglers this yr.... with waters just opening and loads a melting still to go the waters have been high and pretty dirty..
was bored most the day so when my buddy mo asked me to go out around 2pm I thought sure why not.
waters like all creeks were up and really dirty...
walked past about a doz anglers all sayin the same"nothin".
for yrs now ive always told new people ive taken out and even experienced guys the major key to being successful is learning how to read the water....
this is where and why most fail.
water is up and moving and stained. fish are lookin for the clearest water(which in stained water is along the shorelines) and slow water to relax in and maybe grab a bite.
took some walkin but I found some slack water. do all you can in this water to make your bait move as slow as possible.... I managed 4 in 2hrs.... was still very hard fishing .
hope that little tip helps a few more out... ya don't fish high stained water like its your ideal perfect cons trip lol learning water will make you one of the successful anglers .

Great tip, I'll be sure to keep it in mind this spring as I am sure the whole province will experience this dilemma. I am starting to fish the Port Elgin tribs during my Turkey hunt then head back north to the Manitoulin Island rivers and then off to the Soo for my spring Superior trip. Can't Wait! Some days I wish I lived down south to have a river at my access anytime.
