Last weekend before ice

Last weekends temperatures made it feel like the first day of spring but unfortunately it was the calm before the cold. I spent both Saturday and Sunday taking full advantage of the low winds and warm temps to chase browns and lakers on the big pond. Saturday I had Nikki and her puppy Ziva on the boat which was their first time on Lake Michigan and the fish were kind enough to cooperate. We went 9-14 in three short hours. Sunday I went out with my buddy Andy and after finding the fish just a hair south of where I ended Saturday, it was game on. We kept our 10 for the smoker and tossed 5 back in two hours. Now it’s been time to get ready for my ice tournament season which kicks off December 15&16 with the NAIFC National Championship in Minnesota
