Another Day On The Flow
Venturing out today I knew it was going to be a very wet day. I set the alarm for 5 am but my body said it wasn't ready to get up. Finally up at 5:30 and a quick stop at Timmies and then off to the river. I arrived around 7 am with rain not letting up. I reached my goal and it was about 30 minutes before I got a coho on, It decided to go up the river and snapped my line. I love using Steelybeads Bead and I have never deep hooked a fish. I place the bead pegged 2 inches above the hook. These cohos are fresh from the sea and have a huge amount of power and stamina. Today I have preset up 10 hooks rigged with beads in Rigrap Yellow. The best drift is near a log and it took most of my leaders. Thank goodness I didn't have to back and forth across the river each time. The main backbone was the Amundson Kudos Strategy casting rod.
