Bay of Quinte “ Weekend Prefish Results
I managed to spend the weekend on Quinte targeting Largies, and had mixed results. Of course with the fronts rolling in and heavy winds it made it hard to find productive spots. Instead we focused on finding similar areas to what we had success on last weekend. We used almost 2 tanks of gas driving the bay and checking out spots we found on the Navionics chip. It's amazing what you can learn by putting the rods away and just covering water on the main engine and the trolling motor. We're now confident we have a bit of a program put together for the 3 days we will be spending on the Bay in August. Of course what we found could change but we feel confident we have some fishy areas and can figure out the pattern once we get going on Day 1. Because I'll be fishing against many of you guys, I'm going to keep what we're doing quiet but I'll be sure to reveal our pattern after the 3 events. I'm confident we can put together at least 15lbs a day but we have found some better fish in certain locations and feel we could creep up to 20lbs one of the 3 days if luck is on our side.
Also on a side note I caught my first Gar!! Man was it was sweet to finally boat one of these things. They look so cool in pics...Also very tough armor like skin and very snaky. Very hard to hold for a pics.
Here are some of the fish we found shallow and deep this weekend!
