Maine Bladerunners Spring Poccomooshine

The Maine Bladerunners held their club event on Lake Poccomooshine a few weeks back. This is primarily a largemouth fishery, with a few smallies just to keep things balanced. I decided to take a good friend along with me as he has never fished for largemouth before and I knew he wanted to give it a try. The day started with fog and rain. The good thing was that the wind really didn't pick up, but the temps were on the chilly side. I've only been on the lake a couple of times with friends, so needless to say I was a bit nervous making the run around to the back side. We made a short jaunt to the mouth of an inlet and started fishing. It started out being very very slow. Throwing spinnerbaits along old grass lines and tossing jigs into deeper water. First to hook up was my buddy Don. His first largie was a 3.5lber. Great start. After the rain subsided and we warmed up a bit we made a short move to a shallow drop off I know about and BAM. We found them. Ended up weighing in 15.92lbs for the win. Don said he is defiantly going to be targeting more largies.......lol. BTW my Fishbum Stair Down jacket kept me very dry all day. Till next time Folks Tight Lines
