Early Season River Walleye

Got out in early May on the North Sask near my house. Did a lot of lindy rigging and jigging with the current but I had the most success anchoring in a deep run and casting across current into the break and adjacent eddy with a jig head and minnow. The walleye were stacked up and I pulled a bunch of males out of there. Going to go back soon and work the deeper parts of the hole for lake sturgeon. We will see how it goes! Sure felt good to be on the open water again after a long winter!
