First hard water Splake Adventure

Mother Nature thankfully gave us 3-4” of safe black ice to walk out and target some back lake splake . These hybrid brook trout / lake trout cross are so aggressive when their feeding they literally tear the rod out of your hands like a squaretail brookie , and if that’s not enough of an adrenaline rush for you wait till they do the head shakes like a laketrout saying no way I’m coming up and out of that hole .
