George's bay Trevs

George's bay at Sthelens on Tassie's stunning east coast is without a doubt my favourite light tackle location to fish. When you can go out and catch 15 or more species in a day, all within a couple of km, it's a pretty special place! My main targets in the bay are Silver Trevs, Bream, KGW, Kingfish, Snapper, Salmon, Tailor just to name a few. While they are all so much fun, the Silver Trevs are usually my first target as they are such a great sportfish. While on my Christmas break I caught up with my young nephew Matt for a session on the Trevs. We found them in good numbers and fishing a range of Squidgies soft plastics we caught around 40 Trevs for the day up to 52cm along with plenty of other species. We had a ball and Matt even scored his PB Trev at 47cm to the fork. So if you're ever down in Tassie and are keen to fish, make some time for George's bay!
