2013 steelhead tournament.

This past Saturday was the annual steel head tourney on Duffins Creek in Ajax. A high of -4 and 30k wind made for a challenging day on the river.We even had a snow squal! I think a total of 38 guys showed up for 5:45 at the anglers parking lot with a non-perishable food item donated to St. Paul's church Christmas food drive. A total of over 500lbs of garbage was taken off the banks of the river threw out the day which is actually alot more than you would think seeing as how most of the waste was light weight wrappers and papers, cans ect.. Matt Branton won the prize for most garbage brought back with 45lbs worth. The day start off real slow for me only hooking two fish all morning..Alot of guys struggled to get bit at all so I felt like if I could cover alot of water I might bump into one here one there. I turned out to be right landing a couple fish in the 25" range and a 30 inch fish at 12, and a 31 inch fish at 1:30. Here are the final top 5. 1st place Ryan Crowley 61 inches. Bf. 31 inches. 2nd place Aaron Flavell 52.25 3rd place Todd Crowley 49.25 4th place Steve Turner 49.25 5th place Mark ? 46( if this is you please add your last name ) All said and done a very well put together event by Chris Currie. Over $3000 in cash and prizes and the banks of the creek are alot cleaner because of the efforts of the anglers. All fish were released when caught. Can't wait for next year. What a fun event!
