1st Wade

High tide with water temps at 68-72 degrees all day proved to be the perfect combo for this past Saturday. It was a spontaneous trip that started by my girlfriend saying she wanted to go fishing this weekend. When asked in the boat or wading she quickly replied, wading like yall always do! This was music to my ears! We took off for Galveston Friday night. Saturday morning we woke early and set out for a Galveston wade that I had fished during the summer but was excited to fish once the water temps were down. The first gut proved to hold fish with 3 nice slot reds and a handful of flounder. As for trout; only dinks were hitting our lures so we decided to pull out and head for another spot. Once we arrived to the next spot there were boats everywhere but luckily not in the one area that we had set out to go. We quickly putted over to the point and sunk the two power poles into the sand and hopped out... 1 - 2 -3 casts and BOOM!... We had a double hook up 50 ft from the boat. Solid trout 18-22"; this got us excited and dug in. We fished from 11am-1:20pm catching trout left and right, with a few 3-4lbers mixed in. It was a unbelievable bite! To top the trip off my girlfriend; who had been relentlessly determined to stick a fish on a lure all morning, did so! She threw that DSL with a Bomber Stand-up Jig Head 1/4 oz right on the edge of the gut and stuck her first trout on a lure! This made the entire trip! Another day on the water has provided us with memories that will last a life time!Stay Lucky & Stay Tight
