Slogs in the AM
This winter has been fickle this year down on the Texas Coast. We have endured a few cold fronts that have brought temperatures down both in the air & water to the 50's ; then not even a day later have those temps shoot back up to Spring like conditions at around 70-75 degrees F. This makes finding the big girls a little harder; nevertheless we have been persistent in the pursuit of that 30" 10lb Slog. This beaut was caught by Capt. Cameron around 7-8am during the last chilly cold front that blew in. She measured 28" and just under 8lbs on the boga. Super healthy trout with all the fight in the world in her. She was peacefully released; with little to no stress. We're fishing a tournament coming up this weekend; in-fact the same tourney Connor won last year with his stud 28 3/4" 8.7lber. Hopefully we defend our bragging rights and land another goliath trout for the W. Until then, the hunt continues...............
