Crappy Weather but Good Bites!

Had a crappy few days of weather the other weekend up at the cottage . Was limited to few spots due to wind and lots of rain at times. Started the friday night looking for some smallies with limited water to fish because of wind. Stuck around the one side of an island that i knew at times held fish . After not finding anything on the deeper weed edges i decided to move in shallower on the inside edge bounching a Lunkerhunt Bento minnow on a ballhead jig . Pretty quickly i noticed some action and found some agressive smallies. With daylight really shuting down quick i managed to boat two 3lb and change smallies. The next day we had a ton of rain all day and my buddy and i decided to man up and go fish. We went down the lake to one of my GPS spots to go for some musky and not 4 casts in my buddy Rob landed a nice 45 incher. The next morning i decided to pitch a lunkerhunt swimbait jig out infront of the cottage where there was a descent weed bed that was out of the wind and not long after dropping the trolling motor i hooked into a beautiful pike! As these pike are known as "invasive" to Balsam lake we cut the fish up and had an awesome deep fry lunch.!

Sounds like you made the most of some pretty harsh conditions, gotta love the pike-fry!
