Canada/US Walleye Tournament - Our "Other" Gold Medal
May 23 -24 The Bobcaygeon Chamber of Commerce and their citizens hosted yet another knock-out success for the 35th tournament that brings top Pros and Ams from all corners.
A legion of volunteers kept everything ticking along with a great trade show featuring top merchants and services added to everyone's experience.
Tough conditions including a chilly minus 2 blast off on Day 1, clear water, and high winds did not stop these men and women from vying for top honours along with a pile of moola and prizes at this premier event.
So how was the bite? 135 teams = 270 stories and I think I heard at least half of them times two. I can't count how many times I heard the word "slot".
While staying at marker 10 on the river and casting off the rocks, no amount of fish whispering sent my slot size towards Sturgeon.
Congratulations to all.
At this writing, 125 teams have already registered for 2016.
I'll be sure to blow bubbles from the bridge next year!
I love my life.
