Toronto Urban Fishing Ambassadors - Let the Fishing Fun Begin!
Our third year teaching kids how to fish at the CUPE Local 79 family picnic, along with promoting urban fishing opportunities and conservation made for a stellar day.
My local "Hood Hole" boasts a healthy habitat of multiple species with the likes of bluegill, rockbass, perch, catfish, crappie and everyone's fave - Big Fat Bass which opens next weekend in Zone 16.
Many young first timers got to experience that "Heart rate jumps in 3, 2, 1 feeling as they landed some great catches. And for those that didn't land a world record, just hearing them say, "This is fun." was worth it's weight in gold.
Our CPR philosophy starts with safe casting all the way through to proper fish handling.
Make a pledge this year and every year to introduce someone new to angling. You have my personal guarantee that your heart will swell with happiness.
To my fearless leaders, David Clark and David Kearney along with my band of brothers that volunteer their time, talent, and patience : Fish On In The GTA!
