Crazy Good Fishing, the last 5 Days!!!!

Yowzah!!! What a stellar couple of days we have had on the water. Every single day we have to fish around storms, but we had an absolute bang up couple of days. With a pile of luck, we were able to get 25 trips off the dock in the last 5 Days!!! We certainly appreciate every ones patience and understanding with the weather. Some of the crews had to wait out storms to pass before we could leave. Several of the crews had to come in a little early to get away from weather. Safe, fun and fishy just the way we like it. The guides were just doing everything they could to make things happen, and they really worked their tails off to get it done. Brutally early mornings to get the best live bait. Late evenings to make repairs and very little sleep in between. Judging from the pictures they have been sending in, it was all worth it. On top of all of that, we all had to find the best/safest areas to fish with this crazy weather. It was tough to stay on the same fish this week, because we had to move around so darn much. One day we would make the run to the LA Marsh, the next day we would have to fish to the east. A day later and we were fishing to the west. Some of the guys even went north, and fished in Bay St Louis. It was a hustle, but luckily, the fish were very hungry this week. Live bait has been a big part of what we have been doing. The live shrimp were used to locate the fish. Some days we used them on the near shore reefs, deep under the Boat Monkey popping corks. Other days, if it was later in the day, we would be using them on the bottom in deeper oyster laden bottoms. If you were fishing with Capt Ray, he used a pile of live shrimp to pitch to triple tails. I really don't know what lucky charm that dude is carrying with him, but he is seeing more triple tails than any of our other 6 guides. The bull reds have been in full force the last couple of days. Capt Alex has been on a tear with those big brutes. He has been trying to get away from them, to find more areas with more trout, sheepshead and slot reds. Alex has been making some long runs in his new catamaran. He has even been taking out some fly fisherman, to do battle with some red snapper, jack crevalle, and other deeper water critters. He said some of the fish they were fighting were dumping 10 weight fly rods!!! Luckily his crews brought some heavier bamboo. Capt Kenny has been on big trout lately. He has been giving many live croakers a very noble death. Kenny has been a little tight lipped on where he has been fishing, but I am willing to bet it some of the older reefs he used work, back in his oyster captain days. Regardless, his crews have been treated to some beautiful trout and reds. The "Mighty" Capt Matt worked his tail off this week. He has been all over the MS Sound and LA Marsh. I bumped into him, open water one day this week. He had a box full of slot reds, and big trout. He had burned through most of his live shrimp, and was pleading for shrimp. Luckily, we had a box of fish too, but most had come off tight lined soft plastics. We had a well full of shrimp, and were happy to pass them off to our good buddy. Mr Consistent, Capt Darien has been knocking the snot outta everything. One day he has been loading the boat with puppy drum and reds. The next day, Capt D is punishing the speckled trout. The cool thing, is that he hasn't fished many of the same spots, having to fish around weather. Hard to have a bad time with Capt D, he keeps em reeling and smiling all day long. I have had a great week with a bunch of my good buddies. Just to name a few, Guice Offshore, The Gaffeny Family, and the President of the Diamondhead Fishing Club himself, Mr Gary Becker were on the boat this week. We got a taste of everything. We got to see sow trout, sea monster black drum, white trout, slot reds, and even a few triple tails!!! Everyday was a new adventure, and we kept the good times rolling. Thanks for everything guys. And that is how it is probably gonna go for the next couple months. Just doing what we can, when we can. A lot of these trips we ran, were people on our STANDBY LIST. Several of the trips we had booked were traveling from long distances, and didn't wanna gamble on the weather. I cant say that I blame them, but we will do everything we can to try. If all of our boats are booked, and anyone wants to be put on the list, just let us know. It doesn't cost a thing, and with 7 boats booked, reschedules and cancelations occasionally happen. If you don't mind a last minute phone call or text, we would be happy to add you to the calendar. If it is safe, and fishable, we will fish it.
