The Mother of all Fathers Day Fishing Reports

We have not had a day off the water this month, but man has it been fun. Whole lotta pictures in this one, and they will have to tell most of this story. We have had the boats split between our docks in Bayou Caddy, and Pass Christian, MS. We have also had large groups coming and going all month at the Cat Island House. I think Kenny and I did almost 2 weeks out there, and good gravy did we see some purdy fish. There is no magic spot, it is June, the fish have been everywhere. The big thing has been fishing around the scattered storms. Our guys put some serious miles on the Sport Trail boat trailers this month. Between finding the best bait, and launching the boats outta harms way, we have burned up a lot of highway. Again, this is why ALL of our boats have Sport Trail trailers under them, they are the toughest things on the planet. All the critters have been in this month. We are seeing good trout around the near shore reefs, down south in the LA Marsh, and out at Cat Island. I know at Cat Island, the biggest hurdle we had to get around was the tide and the dolphins. We some seriously low water in the evenings, and almost had to have dinner on the boat... The dolphins were just trying to get a free meal. Sometimes the trout were so thick, that we had 5 or 6 fellow mammals circling the boat, and trout still coming over the side. I gotta say, it did feel good to watch them maul those ladyfish when we threw them back overboard. Got to fish with Capt Ray and Capt D yesterday. Had not really got to see my buddies, since I have been out at Cat Island most of the month. Besides having to watch the weather constantly, they said the fishing had been great in the LA Marsh and on the near shore reefs. Darren and Ray had also been seeing some big ole Fat Triple Tails. Matter of fact, Darren had his wife and daughter on the boat the day before, and they put some monster triple tails in the box. Here is some of the stuff we have been using. Pretty sure our man Capt Matt has most of this at his shop in Pass Christian, BRUSH ISLAND OUTFITTERS. Hopefully this great fishing will stay with us for a long time. We are doing everything we can to take full advantage of it. Leaving very early, to beat the heat, and watching the weather very closely. There are going to be plenty of other boaters on the water and at the launches. Please be courteous to others, its a big pond, with plenty of water to fish. ***SHORE THING FISHING CHARTERS*** ESTABLISHED IN 2003. The Largest inshore fishing company on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
