Rhythm Wave

Are you ready to ride the wave? I am, since I started using the new Jackal Rhythm Wave swimbaits. I had been waiting (patiently) for these baits for three months now and last week, received a couple of packs of the 4.8 in Bluegill color. Upon first inspection, they really looked nice in their bubble pack. The tails were straight and the bodies were just fat enough to give the baits that realistic outline that is often so important. Once the pack open, I found that the plastic was soft enough to let the tails really move but stiff enough to hold securely on the spring keeper hooks that I like to use. First impression on the water was that the tail moved faster than other swimbaits I had been using. That was a good thing since the bait began to swim the minute it hit the water. Pitching it close to a dock or a wall, the tail would move back and forth all the way to the bottom. The largemouth in Lake Champlain couldn't resist. More surprising was the reaction of smallmouth in open water. The Rhythm Waves are available in 3.8 version and that would be my pick for brown bass. But I only had five inch lures at that time and those are a little big for smallmouth. Surprisingly, the first cast over a shallow reef with the big lure got three fish following with a nice 4-pound smallmouth finally inhaling the lure close to the boat. Yes, that first outing was promising and I look forward to riding the waves (the Jackal Rhythm Waves) all season.

Real, you could not say it any better! I have been enjoying the wave so far on Champlain and looking forward to a great summer riding the wave as you are.
