Shimano Talora Kokanee Rods FLOAT!

I've lost a few rods over the years guiding and the other day I thought I'd lost another one. While guiding a father and his 5 sons on Wood lake for Kokanee a good fish thumped the rod and it released from the rigger. In his excitement to reel in another fish he dropped the rod. I sadly watched the rod disappear into the lake thinking "there goes another one". It's hard to stop quickly when trolling 4 rods on downriggers. I decided to make a quick turn instead and dropped the riggers in an attempt to hook the line with one of my cables but it's hard to turn sharp when running 4 lines deep on downriggers. As I made the turn one of the boys noticed the rod butt sticking out of the water about 2". I couldn't turn the boat sharp enough and we missed it on our first attempt. Swinging around for another attempt one of his boys jumped in, swam, and grabbed the rod. Hot day and 74 degree water so all is good. His son handed me the rod and I felt a tug so I quickly handed the rod to the father and said reel! He did and reeled in his fish...a 16" Kokanee! Another reason to buy Shimano...Talora Kokanee rods FLOAT!
