Perch Fun

Those of you who are perch enthusiasts and prefer to use artificial baits and want an option to the traditional soft plastics presentations such as PowerBait or Gulp Minnows, give the Johnson Thinfisher a try. It's a quarter ounce bait that casts a mile. I use for it for perch and comes in a wide variety of colours. Throw it out, let it sink to the bottom, and jig it up and down off the bottom hard enough to feel it vibrate. It casts great, especially with NanoFil and a 4 lb. test Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon leader. It has really good hooks right from the package so no need to change them. A medium action Veritas paired with a Revo S reel is a sensitive matching white combination that looks and feels great with this presentation. Looking forward to giving this bait a try ice fishing this year as I think it's going to be a winner. The Thinfisher also comes in a 3/16 ounce size for panfish and a half ounce size that will appeal to larger game fish.
