The New Okanagan Bass Anglers

2020 has not been an ordinary year. Yes, I am aware of how much of an understatement that is. With everything that has been taken away from us, it felt time to bring something back. The Okanagan Bass Anglers fishing club has been on hiatus for a few years. Lives had become more hectic, priorities changed, and the club suffered the collateral damage. The summer of 2020 presented a unique opportunity. With indoor activities basically taken away, more people in the Okanagan have been heading outdoors. It started with some minor conversations between myself and former member David Brennan and next thing we knew, the club was up and running again and within two months we are up to 50 members. Now, four events and three meetings in, we are rolling. Club merchandise is selling well, we are adding about 5 members per week, and new friendships are being made left and right. The environment and participation levels feel better than ever. The only question remains is how to keep the ball rolling. Do you have advice or ideas for running a bass club?
