A kickstand on a reel ???
A kickstand on a reel ??? --- Shimano being famous for producing some of the most cutting edge bicycle parts, you would imagine that a kickstand would be something from the cycling department. That's not the case. You might call it a gadget, or whatever you want, I've found that a kickstand is pretty useful on a reel. Because of the very early spring, the boat is not here yet and I've been fishing from shore a lot. When you fish from shore, you have to put your rod on the ground when you tie on a new lure or replace that jig that got stuck on bottom. That's when you hit that rock with your brand new reel or get sand in it. Well, if you have the new Shimano Sustain, you can screw in that little "thinghee" on the opposite side of the handle and it will hold the reel an inch or so from the ground… away from all that grit.

It fits on stradics Ive had one a my CI4. Its an amazing little feature that keeps your reel from banging around on the deck of your boat once its strapped down!

The kickstand will save the reel from getting dirty when fishing off shore when you lay it on the ground. I like the idea. way to go Shimano. And thanks for sharing.

The part was not intended to be sold seperatly. I haven't tried it on other reels yet. If it does, it will only be on stadics, stellas and saros as it has to be thread in handles.
