2020 Local Federation: St.Lawrence River

Fallen a little behind this season with the posts. So had my 2nd event of the season out of Ogdensburg,NY on the St.Lawrence River. Fishing has been tough up until this point. Not a lot of bites each day but quality has shown up. I started the morning fishing some current breaks and picked up a limit within 45 minutes weighing about 6-7lbs. Started hitting a few postspawn areas that were relatively close to the spawning flats since the fish were in limbo. I managed to cull out all my fish on the 5150 Plastics 3” Goby in “Hologram” on a drop shot. I used a 6’10” medium/light/fast action 13 Fishing fate black rod spooled up with 12lb Sunline braid with a 10’ Sunline FC Sniper Fluoro leader. Paired with a 1/2oz drop shot weight the fall rate and drag speed seemed to be spot on. I managed a total of 17.17lbs anchored by a 5.67lb lunker good enough for a 2nd place finish and Lunker for the day
