NNY Bassmaster Team Trail:St.Lawrence River

Was able to jump in the last regular event for the Northern New York Bassmaster Team Trail for 2020. We launched out it Ogdensburg and I hadn’t been on the river in a couple months. We started the morning out with a small 2. Couldn’t get bit so within the hour we ran down river and first 5 minutes of the drift I stuck a 4.6lb smallie in a drop shot. About 30 mins later I was able to get a 4lb smallie boatside and in the box. Both of these fish came by dragging along a depth break in about 20-24’ with small rock mixed in were some larger rocks. We ran down to another location and were able to pick up a few fish around 3lbs. We had a little over an hour left in the day and we decided to hit a quick stop on a current break in 37’ that yielded us with two 4lb smallies that culled out our two small 3lb fish brining our total weight for the day to 19.93lbs which gave us 4th place for the day. All of the fish were caught on a 5150 Goby in Hologram color. Highly recommend trying this bait out no matter where you live! I was using a 13 Fishing Fate Black spinning rod, 6’10” Medium Light action with 12lbs sunline braid to a 7lb Sunline FC Sniper leader. I used a 1/0 Trokar drop shot hook with a 1/2 and 3/8oz WOO! Tungsten weight
