Cashion Rods Team Event:Clayton, NY

Fished my first ever Cashion Rods team event on Saturday September 12th out of French Creek Marina. The weather was good enough to let us venture out on the big Lake. Managed my first few true Lake Ontario small mouths. We spent the day shallow covering water looking for groups of smallies hanging around rock piles. We managed to get 5 fish for 16.87lbs but unfortunately had a 1lb penalty which ended us in 17th out of 39 boats. Landed my fish on a drop shot 5150 Goby with a 3/8oz WOO! Tungsten drop shot weight. Managed to catch a key fish on an Xzone 3” Ned Zone. My boater did damage on a Wacky rig and swimbait. Was. A fun day sight fishing shallow fish and I couldn’t have done it without the help of Nines Optics Polarized sunglasses. Made finding the dark areas on the flats (rockpiles) easy! Big shoutout to my boater who put the time in all week practicing and got me on the water for this event
